Job summary

Cascades is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Reliability Specialist in Warrenton, MO. You’ll own mechanical and electrical integrity, drive planned work to prevent breakdowns, and define standards for defect handling and breakdown elimination.

Your Role

As Maintenance Reliability Specialist, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential. Your scope includes:

Responsible for the mechanical and electrical integrity of assigned equipment.

Drive planned work to prevent component breakdowns.

Define standard processes and tools for defect handling.

Ensure defect-handling processes are followed correctly.

Follow up with operators and maintenance personnel on completed defects.

Define and apply Breakdown Elimination standards.

Support operators and mechanics in solving breakdown causes.

Determine planned maintenance needs and priorities.

Update the planned maintenance system using real data analysis.

Prepare maintenance kits so materials are ready for execution.

Maintain organized and clean parts storage areas.

Lead the yellow filter meeting.

Communicate area priorities with the Maintenance Supervisor and Process Leads.

Facilitate communication between the LCT and Maintenance Supervisor.

Improve defect handling and Breakdown Elimination processes.

Own, update, and improve assigned PFX documents.

Coach operators on defect handling and Breakdown Elimination.

Support the Maintenance Supervisor in building team skills and standards.

Monitor and improve maintenance and Lean Production System KPIs.

What you bring

You're a natural fit for Maintenance Reliability Specialist if you have:

A technical degree is preferred.

Five years of relevant experience.

Mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with maintenance processes and planned work.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Experience coaching teams and navigating complex situations.

The ability to monitor and improve key performance indicators.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Reliability Lead's mission is to be responsable for all outcomes associated with the maintenance of his/her area. You ensure communication between operations and maintenance and correct prioritization for maintenance activities and manages defects/failures. You also provide support to the Asset Owner and Process Lead.

Individual responsibilities

Accountable
Define standard processes and tools to handle defects (DH) and ensures that processes are executed properly to improve equipment reliability and performance
Define / execute on standards for Breakdown Elimination (BDE) minor issues execution (6W2H) and major issues execution (root-cause analysis)
Monitor repair paths

Responsible
Follow up with operators to ensure that any defects were handled properly
Support operators in identifying and solving problems that caused breakdowns
Determine planned maintenance needs and prioritize work orders / schedule the process for conducting planned maintenance
Share best practices with other Reliability Leads
Ensure constant communication with the maintenance department to establish area priorities
Continuously improve established maintenance processes including Defect Handling and Breakdown Elimination
Train and coach operators to handle different aspects of maintenance including DH and BDE
Reduced negative impact of maintenance needs and machine reliability
Support CI Pillar and Reliability Management Pillar
