Job summary

Cascades in Wagram, NC is seeking a Reliability Lead to supervise maintenance activities and drive reliability across the Converting division. You will ensure mechanical and electrical integrity, lead defect handling, and apply Lean principles to reduce breakdowns.

Reporting to Production Management, you will coordinate with operators and maintenance, define BDE standards, monitor KPIs and maintenance plans, and coach teams to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for defining standard maintenance processes to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Responsible for following up with operators to ensure defects are handled properly and to identify root causes.

• Responsible for ensuring the mechanical and electrical integrity of the ownedequipment and driving 'planned work' to avoidcomponentbreakdowns
• Develop and implement standardized processes and tools for effective handling of defects, ensuring proper execution.
• Oversee and follow up with operators to ensure proper handling of defects, and support in problem-solving to prevent breakdowns.
• Define and execute standards for Breakdown Elimination (BDE), presenting breakdown status regularly at team meetings.
• Monitor repair paths, determine planned maintenance needs, and prioritize/schedule maintenance activities while maintaining constant communication with the maintenance department for area priorities.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Reliability Lead’s mission is to be responsable for all outcomes associated with the maintenance of his/her area. You ensure communication between operations and maintenance and correct prioritization for maintenance activities and manages defects/failures. You also provide support to the Asset Owner and Process Lead.

Individual responsibilities

Accountable
Define standard processes and tools to handle defects (DH) and ensures that processes are executed properly to improve equipment reliability and performance
Define / execute on standards for Breakdown Elimination (BDE) minor issues execution (6W2H) and major issues execution (root-cause analysis)
Monitor repair paths

Responsible
Follow up with operators to ensure that any defects were handled properly
Support operators in identifying and solving problems that caused breakdowns
Determine planned maintenance needs and prioritize work orders / schedule the process for conducting planned maintenance
Share best practices with other Reliability Leads
Ensure constant communication with the maintenance department to establish area priorities
Continuously improve established maintenance processes including Defect Handling and Breakdown Elimination
Train and coach operators to handle different aspects of maintenance including DH and BDE
Reduced negative impact of maintenance needs and machine reliability
Support CI Pillar and Reliability Management Pillar
