Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Reliability Engineer to advance the performance and availability of PV solar and battery storage assets. Located in Louisville, CO or Salt Lake City, UT, you will drive reliability initiatives across operations and multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring engineering degrees and 2+ years in reliability-focused roles, plus strong communication, safety culture, and data analytics skills. Occasional travel within the U.S. is required and a bonus package is included.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 2+ years professional experience in engineering with focus on equipment reliability.
• Experience with root cause and failure modes analysis methods.
• Proficient at reading and understanding equipment/facility schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using data analytics and database tools.
• Commitment to safety culture and incident-free work environment.
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. for PV solar/BESS assets.

Responsibilities

• Establish best practices for hardware configuration and maintenance to maximize reliability.
• Troubleshoot systems to identify root causes of performance problems.
• Perform life cycle cost modeling to inform equipment selection.
• Facilitate continuous improvement to maintenance practices with operations personnel and vendors.
• Design solutions and coordinate between AES subcontractors and vendors as needed.
• Utilize drones, LiDAR, thermal imaging, and 3D modeling to improve reliability.
• Participate in AES growth planning and process-improvement tasks.
