Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc. seeks a Reliability Engineer for our Bogalusa, LA area lumber facility to lead reliability initiatives and improve equipment performance.

You will develop maintenance strategies, analyze data, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime. The role requires a mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering background, 3+ years in manufacturing reliability, CMMS experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of reliability/maintenance/engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of reliability principles, predictive technologies, RCA/RCM/FMEA.

Responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of reliability processes, systems, and tools.
• Promote proactive maintenance and ownership of equipment conditions.
• Develop and maintain reliability metrics and models to track mill equipment.
• Identify and implement reliability improvements to reduce downtime and costs.
• Lead preventive/predictive maintenance programs and inspections.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams on performance improvements.
• Support failure investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers to ensure equipment reliability.
• Assist in safety, environmental, and quality standards compliance.
