Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing in the United States seeks a Manufacturing Equipment Services Engineer to work with the MESD leadership and Engineering Group to identify downtime, develop root cause analyses, and implement countermeasures aimed at reliability in specs, design, and installation. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration within regional teams.

You will coordinate with FMC and EPD to share improvement themes, prepare reports, and drive PDCA-based actions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automated equipment electrical hardware/software design, including machine safety controls, servo position control, I/O networking, PLC, and HMI.
• Application of engineering and manufacturing principles.
• In-depth understanding of machining processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify chronic downtime root causes and determine countermeasures; communicate issues to ERS leadership for regional distribution.
• Analyze current manufacturing characteristics and compare to Genpo targets for improvement.
• Provide input for reliability improvements in new equipment specifications based on current issues.
• Prepare reports and execute PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act).
• Conduct KPI gap analysis and develop countermeasure activity; support new technology introduction as needed.
