Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Reliability Engineer II to ensure safety, reliability, and performance of market-released medical devices. Based onsite at the Rice Creek campus in Fridley, MN, you will lead technical evaluations, assess field performance, and drive cross-functional improvements across hardware, firmware, and software systems.

Travel is limited to under 10% for cross-functional collaboration. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, medical safety, regulatory, and quality

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
• Nice-to-have: experience supporting post-market quality, reliability engineering, or product performance for regulated medical devices.
• Knowledge of ISO 14971 risk management and CAPA processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluations of field-observed product performance and conduct risk assessments.
• Analyze complaint data, software performance, hardware reliability, labeling considerations, and product trends.
• Collaborate with Medical Safety to assess patient harm, estimate occurrence probabilities, and evaluate product risk.
• Assess impact of design, manufacturing, supplier, and software changes on products.
• Serve as the technical representative for post-market quality processes including CAPA.
• Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Medical Safety to investigate field issues and implement solutions.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve reliability and patient safety.
• Support post-market risk evaluations and containment actions when needed.
