Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Reliability Engineer II to ensure safety and reliability of market-released medical devices. You will analyze field data, lead risk assessments, and drive improvements across hardware, firmware, and software.

Collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, Medical Safety, and Manufacturing, you will transform field data into actionable insights and help shape post-market reliability strategies.

Qualifications

• Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Nice-to-Have: experience in post-market quality or reliability for regulated medical devices; ISO 14971 knowledge; CAPA activities; data-driven analysis; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluations of field-observed product performance and risk assessments.
• Analyze complaint data, software/hardware reliability, labeling, and product trends for improvements.
• Collaborate with Medical Safety to assess patient harm and overall product risk.
• Evaluate reliability and risk impact of design, manufacturing, supplier, and software changes.
• Serve as technical representative for post-market quality processes, including CAPA.
• Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Safety to investigate field issues and solutions.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve reliability and patient safety.
• Support post-market risk evaluations and decisions on containment, recalls, and labeling updates.
