Job summary

Teragen Energy in Utah is seeking a Reliability & Failure Analysis Engineer to understand why devices fail and how to prevent it, linking cells, fabrication, testing, and stack development to build robust reliability models for commercial products.

You will lead root-cause investigations, develop Weibull and MTBF statistics, document standards, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to push prototypes toward dependable, scalable power solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree with 3–6+ years in failure analysis or reliability engineering.
• Experience with test design and data analysis to resolve technical questions.
• Familiarity with reliability statistics and root-cause methodologies.
• Ability to synthesize data across several sources and disciplines.
• Strong documentation habits and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with microscopy and materials characterization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability knowledge base across cells, fabrication, testing, and stacks to guide decisions.
• Lead deep root-cause investigations using microscopy, fractography, cross-sectioning, FMEA, and structured failure analysis.
• Develop statistical reliability models and lifetime predictions from lab and manufacturing data.
• Identify recurring failure mechanisms and drive design/material/process improvements.
• Define reliability testing, data collection, and failure documentation standards as the company scales.
