Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to own reliability planning for temperature-controlled electromechanical equipment in an R&D setting. The role involves DFMEA leadership, test development, and collaboration with R&D engineers and labs to ensure product reliability aligned with standards.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, with on-site work in Marietta, OH and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of experience in product reliability, validation, verification testing, or related function.
• Experience with designing and developing complex mechanical/electromechanical products.
• Experience leading or contributing to DFMEAs and translating risks into verification or test coverage.
• Hands-on experience developing test methods, protocols, stress profiles, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with accelerated-life, durability, environmental, or combined-stress testing.
• Experience investigating failures, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and verifying improvements.
• Experience supporting product approval or certification testing through a standards organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute reliability plans aligned with requirements and standards.
• Lead DFMEA activities and translate risks into verification methods and test coverage.
• Collaborate with R&D to run mechanical, electrical, thermal, environmental, and accelerated-life tests.
• Create test methods reproducing operating conditions and environmental exposures.
• Analyze data to identify failure trends and opportunities for product improvement.
• Lead structured failure investigations and verify corrective actions through retesting.
• Support product approval and certification testing with applicable standards.
• Coordinate testing and documentation with labs and certification bodies.
• Create and maintain reliability procedures, design guidance, and test protocols.
• Communicate findings to engineering, quality, and program stakeholders.
