Job summary

Novelis Ashville is seeking a Reliability Engineer to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and lead RCA for line and utility systems. You’ll collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering to implement long-term reliability improvements in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, data analysis, and project management skills, with emphasis on MTBF/MTTR metrics and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related Engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
• Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications (Oracle, Artist, Coupa, SAP, etc.).
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to walk, climb stairs, and access production equipment.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
• Ability to support equipment troubleshooting during off-hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures using problem solving tools.
• Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze downtime, maintenance, and reliability data.
• Develop and track KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability.
• Maintain CMMS asset hierarchy, equipment data, and maintenance records.
• Support fixing production and utility systems.
• Lead reliability improvement and equipment upgrade projects.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with company standards.
• Work closely with maintenance technicians, operations teams, and external vendors.
• Reduce recurring equipment failures.
• Improve equipment uptime and reliability.
• Increase PM compliance and effectiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Adhere to and support ISO and IATF standards where applicable.
