Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Yankton, SD seeks a Reliability Engineer to assure the reliability, maintainability, and performance of equipment, utilities, and control systems in a 24/7 manufacturing setting.

The role develops preventive/predictive maintenance programs, leads CRI initiatives, and supports TPM to boost asset life, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs while collaborating with maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years in reliability engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing asset performance.
• Knowledge of CMMS, predictive maintenance and reliability metrics (MTBF/OEE).
• Experience supporting extrusion operations and heavy industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine preventive/predictive maintenance programs in a systematic manner.
• Coordinate PM/PdM services with planners and maintenance management.
• Analyze data, records and histories to improve PM/PdM frequencies.
• Develop solutions for repetitive failures and reduce maintenance needs.
• Specify repair techniques and ensure staff are trained for programmed maintenance.
• Review PM/PdM procedures with operations leadership for owner approval.
• Analyze planned downtime to optimize PM/PdM schedules.
• Adjust PM/PdM frequencies based on downtime and history data.
