Job summary

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking a maintenance reliability professional to develop and apply James Hardie’s core maintenance strategy. You will support manufacturing operations, perform root cause analysis, and implement best practices to improve asset reliability.

Responsibilities include leading RCAs, eliminating unplanned downtime, and guiding teams on asset reliability and maintenance across facilities. A strong engineering background and CMMS experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• 3-5 years of experience in a 24/7 industrial manufacturing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams
• Advanced knowledge in reliability-centered maintenance, FMEA, and criticality analysis
• Proven ability to diagnose and improve mean time between failures
• Experience with CMMS systems (CMMS, INFOR BE or equivalent)
• Advanced skills in basic Microsoft Office software

• Lead root cause analysis to reduce production losses and maintenance costs
• Develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures affecting capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement best practices to maximize mean time between failures
• Guide teams to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and utilities
• Assist plant engineers with asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and costs
• Provide technical support to production, maintenance and technical personnel
• Assist with material lists and maintenance planning for assets
• Review and apply statistical methods to identify reliability trends
• Establish and track reliability metrics

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a solid maintenance reliability and project management background to assist in the development and application of James Hardie’s core maintenance strategy.

What You’ll Do:

Responsibilities

• Assist the manufacturing operations with the execution of the reliability center maintenance activities necessary to eliminate unplanned asset failures.
• Lead root cause analysis events in the identification and elimination of production losses and high maintenance costs associated with asset failures.
• Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
• Develop and implement best practices for assets to ensure their maximum the mean time between failures.
• Guide efforts to ensure best practices are being implemented to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety systems.
• Assist plant engineers with the analysis of asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define the operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.
• Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
• Assist plant personnel in the classification and development of material lists for assets
• Review and apply statistical methods to identify reliability trends
• Establish and track reliability metrics

What You’ll Bring:

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or chemical) - Degree must be from an accredited institution
• 3-5years ofexperience in an industrial continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing environment
• Strong communication (written, oral and interpersonal) skills
• Ability to lead and be part of cross functional teams
• Advanced knowledge in reliability centered maintenance, failure modes & effects analysis, criticality analysis
• Demonstrated ability to diagnosis and correct opportunities to improve mean time between failures of assets
• Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), INFOR BE or equivalent
• Advanced skills in basic personal computer software (Microsoft applications)

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $106,700 to $140,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
