Job summary

Linde is seeking a Reliability Engineer to collaborate with reliability and operations teams to resolve long-term asset issues and reliability threats, and to lead root cause analysis for major failures.

You will analyze data to justify life-cycle cost and reliability improvements, support projects to maximize reliability, and update maintenance procedures. Travel domestically 20–25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (BS).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in maintenance or reliability engineering in an industrial setting.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical equipment (compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
  • Ability to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and machinery drawings with confidence.
  • Apply preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.

Job description

  • You will collaborate with reliability and operations teams to identify and resolve long-term asset issues and reliability threats
  • Analyze data from various sources to recommend and justify life-cycle cost and reliability improvements
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis for major failures to prevent recurrence
  • Support engineering, design, specification, and execution of projects to maximize reliability and operability
  • Further, you will review and update Standard Maintenance and Operating procedures
  • Conduct and assist with Reliability Assessments of facilities and equipment
  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous reliability improvements
  • Support the setup of new facilities and reliability programs
  • Lead key reliability programs and initiatives to enhance asset performance
  • Also, you will assist in identifying critical spares and creating Bills of Materials for essential assets
  • Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is occasionally required
What Makes You Great:
  • You hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Bring a minimum of five years’ experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Further, you demonstrate hands‑on experience with maintenance and engineering of mechanical equipment including compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Interpret and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and machinery drawings confidently
  • You apply knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies
  • Design, specify, and engineer mechanical systems, assets, and projects effectively
  • Also you communicate clearly and collaborate well within teams, delivering presentations as needed
  • Work independently and lead or contribute actively to cross‑functional teams
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently as a self‑starter, achieving results with minimal supervision
  • Utilize computers and standard software packages such as Microsoft Office and email proficiently
  • This position typically requires approximately 20-25% travel domestically
