Job summary

CONSOL Energy is seeking a superintendent-level leader to guide four crews that maintain, repair, and fabricate parts and tools across terminal assets. You will coordinate safety, quality, and reliability while solving real-time problems and coordinating contractors to keep operations running 24/7.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions, prioritize preventive work, and lead efforts to optimize plant availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in mechanical/industrial maintenance with safety, fabrication, welding, production, maintenance software, and staff utilization experience.
• Hands-on electrical and mechanical repair skills and a preventive/predictive mindset.
• Strong leadership presence, coaching ability, and interpersonal communication.
• Proficient with CMMS, MS Word, and Excel; familiar with company policies and labor contracts.
• Eligible to obtain and hold a TWIC credential.

Responsibilities

• Direct employees and contractors on daily maintenance tasks tied to terminal traffic and operations.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions; prioritize corrective and preventive/predictive work.
• Respond to emergent situations and off-hours breakdowns; communicate status promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate vendors and multiple contractors for repairs, improvements, and enhancements.
• Assist operations to optimize plant availability and reliability.
• Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment performance; help control costs and support the annual budget.
• Study production schedules; estimate worker-hour requirements; assist planning for annual shutdowns.
• Promote a team-based culture; provide ongoing feedback; ensure compliance with labor contracts and agreements.
• Step in on the tools when needed—you can perform the same work as your crews.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
• 5+ years in mechanical/industrial maintenance with experience in safety, fabrication and welding, production, maintenance software, economics, equipment usage, and staff utilization.
• Hands‑on skill with electrical and mechanical repairs; strong preventive/predictive maintenance mindset and standards adherence.
• Leadership presence, coaching ability, and excellent interpersonal communication.
• Strong computer skills: CMMS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Analytical approach and understanding of bulk material handling systems; knowledge of company policies and practices.
• Eligibility to obtain and hold a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
