The Weil Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead safe, timely maintenance on terminal and pier assets in Bayamón, PR.

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safe, timely, and properly documented execution of maintenance activities on terminal and pier assets at the PRE Terminals. The role directs the maintenance team and external contractors in the field, ensures the preventive maintenance program remains on schedule, prepares and controls the work permits required for maintenance activities, and manages maintenance spending within the approved budget.

Key areas of focus include maintenance planning and scheduling, field supervision and quality control, execution of the preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs, contractor supervision, and commissioning of new equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor works in close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Planner/Scheduler, and Terminal Operations. The Reliability Engineer defines maintenance strategies; the Maintenance Supervisor implements them in the field and provides feedback on their effectiveness.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; or Industrial Technician degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial facilities in areas related to maintenance, production, and industrial safety; minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience if the stated educational requirement is not met.
  • Experience supervising maintenance personnel and external contractors; fuel terminals, LPG/petrochemical plants, or refineries preferred.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance work with a CMMS.
  • Working knowledge of work permit systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work controls.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119(j) (mechanical integrity), NFPA 30, NFPA 58, API 510, API 570, API 653, and USCG 33 CFR Parts 154 and 156 (preferred).
  • Certification in maintenance and reliability (e.g., SMRP CMRP or CMRT) and/or OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training is a plus.
Skills:
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work under changing operating conditions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, equipment drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
  • Cost control and basic budget management.
  • Effective oral and written communication in Spanish; working proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Visible safety leadership in the field: stops unsafe work when necessary and holds contractors and team members accountable to site requirements.
  • Active leadership: organizes, directs, and develops the maintenance team.
  • Proactive: identifies and proposes continuous improvements to facility assets, maintenance practices, and work processes.

  • Collaborative: works effectively with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, HSE, and contractors.
  • Accountable for the quality of maintenance execution and the completeness of maintenance records.
