Job summary

The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center seeks an ROI Technician to process requests for health information releases in compliance with HIPAA, FOIA, and Privacy Act standards. You will handle requests, verify authorization, and log activities in ROI software and AMIE.

Responsibilities include assisting visitors, answering questions, and ensuring that disclosures are limited to authorized information, while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy in all records handling.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Release of Information requests.
• Familiarity with Privacy Act, FOIA and HIPAA requirements.
• Strong attention to confidentiality and accuracy in data handling.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming ROI requests and track with ROI software.
• Ensure releases are within authorized scope and compliant with laws.
• Verify documentation and eligibility before release of information.
• Respond to inquiries from patients and staff about ROI procedures.
• Enter requests into AMIE and related systems for logging.
