Job summary

Compass Intervention Center in Memphis seeks a Medical Records Clerk to manage release of information requests, assemble charts at discharge, and support the medical records department.

The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is helpful. Prior hospital records experience is preferred. Experience with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospital records experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Process release of information requests and assemble charts for discharge.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA.
• Answer calls and assist or route messages as appropriate.
• File documents accurately into individual medical records.
• Utilize computer programs including Word and Excel for record handling.
