Job summary

Lighthouse Technology Services, Inc. is seeking a Release Manager for a 6-18 month hybrid contract in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on coordinating release lifecycles, ensuring zero-downtime deployments, and guiding teams through CI/CD migrations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Release Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in enterprise settings.
• Proven ability to coordinate releases across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline design and execution.
• PowerShell scripting and deployment automation experience.
• Azure DevOps and cloud deployment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shepherd application code through release lifecycle from development to production.
• Coordinate quality gates, UAT, regression, performance, and security testing for multiple releases.
• Manage weekly release schedules across 100+ engineers and stakeholders.
• Drive migration of on-prem pipelines to Azure-based CI/CD infrastructure.
• Facilitate release readiness reviews with auditable deliverables and rollback plans.
• Maintain deployment automation pipelines and ensure zero-downtime deployments.
• Collaborate with developers, validators, business partners, and DB/Network teams.
• Establish continuous release cadences for daily builds and bi-weekly sprints.
• Identify cross-application dependencies and mitigate release risks.
• Conduct post-release reviews and implement process improvements.

Job description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Release Manager position! This is a 6-18 months contract, will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (4 days on site), and the role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Shepherd application code through the complete release lifecycle from development to production deployment
• Coordinate quality gates, user acceptance testing, regression testing, performance testing, and penetration testing across multiple concurrent releases
• Manage weekly release schedules coordinating dozen+ deployments across 100+ engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
• Drive migration of on-premises deployment pipelines to Azure-based CI/CD infrastructure
• Facilitate release readiness reviews ensuring completion of auditable deliverables, testing requirements, and rollback plans
• Maintain and execute deployment automation pipelines while ensuring platform integrity and zero-downtime deployments
• Collaborate with developers, validators, technical teams, business partners, and database/network teams throughout release cycles
• Establish continuous release cadences supporting daily microservice builds and bi-weekly sprint cycles
• Identify and mitigate cross-application dependencies, deployment conflicts, and release risks
• Conduct post-release reviews and implement process improvements to enhance delivery speed and reliability

What You'll Need to Have:

• 6+ years of Release Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering experience in enterprise environments
• Proven expertise in release coordination and communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong multitasking ability managing multiple concurrent releases and competing priorities
• Hands-on experience with GitLab including Git-based version control, branching strategies, and code promotion models
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, development, administration, and execution
• Proficiency in PowerShell for deployment automation and scripting
• Experience with Azure DevOps and cloud-based software delivery platforms
• Financial services or highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred

Pay Range: $60-65+/hr
