As a Technical Engineer III / Release Engineer, you will drive enterprise software delivery by managing release cadences, automating CI/CD pipelines, and executing zero-downtime deployment strategies. You will bridge application development, infrastructure, and risk management to accelerate time-to-market while upholding banking compliance and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Release Cadence & Planning: Establish continuous and scheduled release cadences (daily microservice builds, bi-weekly sprint cycles) and manage cross-system deployment schedules.
- Enterprise Release Management: Own and maintain release calendars, coordinating application, infrastructure, database, security, and vendor changes to ensure successful execution across multiple environments and delivery teams.
- Release Readiness Reviews: Facilitate release readiness assessments to validate completion of SDLC deliverables, testing requirements, approvals, implementation procedures, rollback plans, operational readiness, and support transition activities. Ensure all auditable deliverables are completed.
- Dependency & Risk Management: Identify cross-application dependencies, deployment conflicts, resource constraints, and release risks. Develop mitigation plans and coordinate resolution activities with stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-release reviews, capture lessons learned, analyze release-related incidents, and implement process improvements to improve delivery speed, quality, and reliability.
- Automation & Reliability: Define and enforce source-control branching and code-promotion strategies that support controlled, traceable releases. Engineer robust and repeatable CI/CD pipelines and reusable deployment automation to promote consistent deployments across environments. Maintain pipeline integrity and partner with SRE to validate post-release platform health.
Core Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8+ years in Release Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering within an enterprise setting (financial services preferred).
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with source control and code repository platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitLab, including Git-based version control, branching strategies, code promotion models, and CI/CD pipeline development and administration.
- Cloud & Modern Delivery Platforms: Experience designing and supporting cloud-based software delivery solutions using platforms such as Azure DevOps. Knowledge of infrastructure as code, cloud-native deployment patterns, and modern application delivery practices.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
