Job summary

Boulder Connect is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to commission, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair protective relays, substation control systems, and related electric utility equipment in Irving, TX.

You will interpret drawings, plan relay and control system testing, provide field support, and lead safety-focused work to ensure high-quality workmanship during preventive and corrective maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with protective relays and substation control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret substation drawings and documentation.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair expertise with emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities

Key Duties Include

• Interpret substation drawings and technical documentation to support commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Plan and execute relay and control system testing and inspection tasks.
• Troubleshoot electrical protection systems and resolve operational issues.
• Provide field support to coordinate technical needs and assist with corrective actions.
• Support and maintain substation control equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Deliver technical leadership and guidance to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Follow applicable safety procedures and work practices throughout all activities.
  

Required skills/qualifications: Strong technical knowledge of protective relays and substation control systems, ability to read and interpret substation drawings, and proven troubleshooting/repair expertise in electric utility equipment, with a strong safety focus.
