Job summary

DND Staffing LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of Protection & Controls experience to support electric transmission and distribution systems. The role focuses on relay protection, settings, and substation projects.

You will design and implement relay protection systems, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, perform fault studies, and contribute to commissioning and testing activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with relay settings development, relay coordination, fault studies, protection logic, and protection engineering software.
• Strong understanding of Protection & Controls (P&C) for transmission, distribution, or substation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and apply relay protection, tele-protection, and metering systems for transmission and distribution networks.
• Develop and maintain relay settings, protection logic, and setting files.
• Perform short circuit analysis, fault studies, relay coordination studies, and relay setting calculations.
• Review schematics, wiring diagrams, protection designs, and technical specifications.
• Support new substation projects and modifications to existing installations.
• Provide technical support during relay commissioning, testing, and cutovers.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Construction, Testing, vendors, and other technical teams.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, RFPs, and engineering documentation.
• Review vendor engineering work and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Support troubleshooting and emergency response for relay protection system issues.
• Maintain engineering and compliance documentation in accordance with applicable regulatory and reliability requirements.
