Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Relay Field Technician in its Field Engineering department to execute commissioning and testing of protection and control schemes for electric utility substations and plants. Responsibilities include testing IEDs, red-lining drawings, and leading project tasks on-site.

The role requires 5+ years in relay testing, ability to read diagrams, and strong communication. On-site field work with multiple testing sets and safety oversight is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Experience with volt-ohm-meter and hand tools.
• Ability to read One Line, AC/DC diagrams.
• Eligible for field work in various environments.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents in drawing sets.
• Perform end-to-end testing and IED testing.
• Develop test plans and risk assessments.
• Lead tasks within projects and provide leadership.
• Conduct weekly site safety inspections.
• Support company and customer policies.
