Job summary

Principal Asset Management in the Northeast seeks a Relationship Manager to build deep ties with advisors, plan sponsors, and administrators in CT, NY, PA, NJ, and MA. You’ll partner to design plans, review retirement readiness, and pursue opportunities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of equivalent experience, 4+ years in retirement, licensing within 5 months (Series 6/7, 63, Life & Health), and some travel. Remote work is possible when not in meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years retirement industry experience.
• Must become an associated person of Principal Securities, Inc.
• Qualified Plan knowledge strongly preferred (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution)
• Excellent demonstrated leadership, negotiation, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills required, as well as superior interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communication skills
• Must be assertive and entrepreneurial
• Travel required (25 - 30%), mostly day travel but there will be some overnight travel, as well.
• Licensing required within 5 months of employment (strong preference for fully licensed): FINRA Series 6 or 7, FINRA Series 63, Life & Health

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the plan sponsor and the advisor on plan design, investments, retirement readiness, services and new opportunities.
