Job description

Join to apply for the Relationship Manager role at John Hancock.

This position is available in Manulife John Hancock’s Mid/Large corporate segment. While regional coverage is preferred, the ideal candidate should be flexible to travel outside their region. The role focuses on achieving retirement plan retention, revenue growth, and asset expansion through informed and loyal advisors, sponsors, and participants. Strong investment industry and product knowledge, along with experience integrating these solutions into existing relationships, are preferred.

The Relationship Manager advocates for the Customer, is an industry expert, and contributes to the broader Strategic Relationship Management & Consulting team and John Hancock organization. Experience with non-qualified deferred compensation and defined benefit plans is also preferred.

The book of business will focus on clients with greater than $50M in AUM, potentially up to $1B depending on experience.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Achieve all annual metrics – retention, revenue, customer engagement
  2. Learn Manulife John Hancock Retirement products, features, and services, applying them with a focus on investment products
  3. Manage internal and external customer relationships effectively, leveraging available resources
  4. Exhibit consultative selling and negotiation skills, optimize product features, plan design, and employee retirement readiness
  5. Demonstrate executive presence and subject matter expertise to instill confidence and influence outcomes aligning with Customer and Manulife John Hancock objectives
  6. Follow all company and department processes and procedures, including meeting materials, travel, expense, CRM documentation, and data integrity
  7. Support new sales and market development initiatives
Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred)
  2. 7-10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
  3. Initiative, motivation, and accountability
  4. Expertise in consultative selling and negotiation
  5. Ability to analyze complex relationships and meet goals
  6. Strong business insight and presence
  7. Effective communication, rapport building, and partnership skills
  8. Flexibility and resilience in changing environments
  9. Strategy development and goal setting, with adaptability
License Requirements
  1. Successful completion of SIE
  2. Hold FINRA Series 6 or 7, 63 or 66
  3. State Insurance license

Salary & Location

Location: USA, Massachusetts - Full Time Remote

Salary range: $120,750 - $217,350 USD. For roles outside primary location, contact recruitment@manulife.com for local salary info. Compensation includes incentives based on performance.
