Job summary

Sauk Valley Bank in the United States is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential loans through relationship-based sales and community engagement within an assigned market. You will manage the loan relationship from initial borrower contact through underwriting submission, serving as the primary contact for borrowers, Realtors, attorneys, and referral partners.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred) and about two years of experience in conventional or government loan

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent job experience and education.
• Two years prior experience originating Conventional and Government loan products.
• Proficient math skills including interest calculations and balances.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficient with mortgage software and related compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Generate self-sourced mortgage loan applications through referrals and community efforts.
• Consult borrowers to assess financial needs, explain options, and recommend products.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for borrowers and referral partners.
• Maintain strong communication with Realtors, attorneys, and others to support timely closings.
• Submit mortgage loan applications using the bank’s LOS and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare disclosures and maintain TRID compliance throughout the process.
