Job summary

Sauk Valley Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential loans through relationship-based sales and community engagement. You will manage the borrower relationship from contact through application and underwriting, coordinating with processors, underwriters, and closers to ensure accurate disclosures and timely closings.

The role requires preparing disclosures, ensuring TRID compliance, and maintaining accurate data in the LOS and banking software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years prior experience originating Conventional and Government loan products.
• Proficient math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts.
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and banking software.

Responsibilities

• Generate self-sourced mortgage loan applications through Realtors, builders, financial centers, community involvement, and other referral sources.
• Conduct borrower consultations to assess financial needs, explain loan options, and recommend appropriate mortgage products.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for borrowers and referral partners throughout the loan origination process.
• Maintain strong communication with Realtors, attorneys, and other transaction participants to support timely closings.
