Job summary

Valley Bank in New Jersey seeks a Lending Specialist to manage loan documentation, processing, closing and monitoring while delivering quality service to borrowers and lenders.

You will act as the primary liaison through the loan lifecycle, coordinate with Relationship Managers and internal teams to ensure timely closings and accurate funding. Experience in loan processing and knowledge of commercial loan documentation is preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal/written communication.
• Confident in enforcing policies, procedures and processes.
• Proven ability in customer service, organization, data entry, time management and multitasking in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with internal and external customers/stakeholders from approval to loan closing.
• Manage deal flow with Relationship Managers to ensure timely closings.
• Coordinate and review closing documents with counsel and internal teams for due diligence and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with the transaction flow, escalating issues and designing controls to cover risks.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure proper booking, accruals, and daily cash positions.
• Ensure initial loan funding and ongoing life of loan activity are properly processed and booked.
• Review loan documents at closing to ensure accuracy and successful funding.
