Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Relationship Banker at our Newport, Oregon location to build strong client relationships through in-person, by-appointment, and virtual engagement.

You will identify financial needs, educate clients on deposit and loan options, and guide them to digital self-service tools while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance. You will open accounts, process transactions, and work with the team to provide proactive outreach and tailored solutions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically, has less than four years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training.
• Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up.
• Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems.
• Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies.
• Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset.
• Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer’s needs both reactively and proactively.
• Experience in the financial services industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with customers across in-person, appointment, and virtual channels.
• Open new consumer and business accounts and submit credit applications.
• Explain deposit and loan products, educate clients on digital tools, and advise on solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and services and digital channels.
• Ensure accurate handling of customer information and transactions.
• Collaborate with branch team members to deliver excellent service.
