Job summary

AXA XL’s Reinsurance Wordings (RW) team seeks a Wordings Specialist in Stamford, CT on a hybrid schedule. You will analyze treaty wordings, ensuring underwriting intent is reflected and aligned with corporate guidelines, while advising underwriters, clients, and brokers globally.

You will collaborate with the Reinsurance Segment and Legal Department, share best practices, and deliver technical wording advice pre- and post-bind to manage exposure to evolving risks.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and analyze reinsurance clauses/wordings in English.
• Deliver clear wording solutions to underwriters, brokers and peers.
• Deep understanding of business, legal and compliance needs for reinsurance classes.
• Knowledge of standard market clauses and class-specific wording structures.
• Ability to plan, self-manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with reinsurance wordings.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing and new treaty wordings and explain clauses through the entire document.
• Create and innovate wording solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Reinsurance Segment, Legal Dept, Claims, Compliance, Finance and Underwriting Governance teams.
• Provide training and best-practice presentations to underwriting teams and pre-/post-bind wording advice.
• Support underwriters by highlighting coverage exposure to emerging and systemic risks.
