Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Reinsurance Reporting Principal to lead complex financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting. You will drive bordereaux reporting, build robust financial models, and prepare high-level statements with senior leadership in mind.

This role requires advanced degrees, 5–7 years in reinsurance accounting, strong Excel and ERP/SQL skills, and the ability to mentor analysts while collaborating across operations, IT, and finance to advance strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (MSc, MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, preferably in a principal or senior role.
• Proven experience in managing complex projects and providing strategic financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead bordereaux reporting and analysis.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reports, providing insights to inform key business decisions.
• Prepare high-level monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including management reports.
• Analyze historical data to project future financial performance and prepare financial models for forecasting and planning.
• Identify potential risks in financial processes and recommend improvements for mitigating those risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during reviews and audits.
• Provide data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other complex projects.
• Assist in the development of strategic business plans and KPIs.
• Manage and oversee assigned financial projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Drive process efficiency improvements through the application of automation, AI, and advanced analytics.
• Work with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial systems and data reporting.
• Lead initiatives to upgrade financial processes, ensuring they're scalable and adaptable to business needs.
• Collaborate closely with operations, IT, finance, and executive leadership to align financial plans with business goals.
• Communicate complex financial data and insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts and team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
