Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking a Lead Financial Business Partner to join its FP&A team. You will drive budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, partnering with senior finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and enhance planning capabilities.

The role focuses on building out the FP&A function, improving budgeting processes and data-driven decision support to optimize enterprise performance in a P&C insurance context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of FP&A, finance, accounting or business analysis.
• P&C insurance experience strongly preferred.
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and variance analysis experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and close processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with ERP/planning tools; TM1 desirable.
• MBA or advanced qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the FP&A function development, owning budgeting and planning.
• Drive data analytics programs for budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Prepare quarterly budget-to-actual and variance analyses.
• Incorporate actuarial data and loss assumptions into forecasts and reports.
• Coordinate financial close schedules and consolidated FP&A reporting.
• Partner with actuarial, accounting, tech and BI teams to improve data integration.
• Serve as liaison with controllership for ledger interpretation and reconciliation.
• Develop management reports comparing actuals to budget/forecast.
