Job summary

Selective Insurance invites college students to join the Ignite Internship program for summer 2027 at our corporate office in Short Hills, NJ. This 11-week, full-time internship offers hands-on exposure to our business areas, on-the-job assignments, team projects, and interactions with senior leadership.

Throughout the program you’ll develop professional skills, build networks, and participate in a community volunteer day.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in accounting (Class of 2028 preferred).
• Interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Reinsurance and Reinsurance Accounting teams in identifying, evaluating, and reporting on legacy treaty commutations.
• Assist in reorganizing, documenting, and mapping the internal shared drive structure.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving departmental and organizational goals.
• Communicate facts, analyses, and recommendations effectively through both written and verbal communications.
• Assist with any ad-hoc projects as needed.
