Job summary

Howden Group is seeking a student to join its North America reinsurance team. You will learn reinsurance broking, risk mitigation, and claims decision making while supporting clients and teams.

On a day-to-day basis you will handle accounting functions, loss notices, and confirm treaty coverage. You will work toward a Bachelor's degree (accounting preferred) with a GPA 3.0+, and be legally eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (any subject; accounting preferred).
• GPA 3.0+ requirement stated.
• Legal authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Perform reinsurance accounting functions for client accounts.
• Receive loss notices and proofs of loss; forward to reinsurers.
• Confirm treaty coverage; review retention and limits.
• Prepare/review loss calculations for contract terms.
• Process claims transactions in accounting and claims systems.
• Track status of reinsurer settlements.
