Job summary

Brown & Brown's Tyler, Texas office seeks an Accountant – FEIC to manage large volumes of financial data, process vendor invoices, prepare journal entries, and deliver accurate reports on schedule. The role requires solid accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to support management and auditors.

The ideal candidate has experience with accounting software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, and AMS360, and can work overtime to meet quarterly reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Vendor invoice payment processing for FEIC entities
• Journal entries for periodic financial statement reporting purposes for FEIC entities
• Complying with all company, local, state, federal and CIMA accounting and financial regulations (surplus lines, sales & use tax, 1099s, etc.)
• Billings and collections for insurance deductibles and reinsurance recoveries.
• Financial statement reporting for FEIC by 45 days from each quarter end.
• Complex and large volume of reconciliations (bank accounts, insurance program bordereaux by carrier and program year, security deposits, fixed assets, etc.)
• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data
• Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc. for multiple entities
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Performing reconciliation audits and resolving discrepancies
• Preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
