Job summary

PCL Construction in Abilene, Texas seeks a Reinforcement Ironworker Journeyman (Rebar) for the Duroc Data Center Project. The role focuses on installing reinforcing bars per blueprints, using hack saws and torches, and coordinating with other trades on the site.

Pre-employment drug test is required and 48+ months of craft experience preferred. Pay rate ranges from $33.00 to $35.00 per hour with a $10.00 incentive—eligible for NCCER certs and apprentice advancement.

Responsibilities

Position Hiring: Rebar (Rodbuster) Journeyman

Pay Rate: $33.00 - $35.00 (based on certification)

Incentive Rate:$10.00 (will be combined with base rate)

Job Responsibilities

• Safe use of Hand & Power Tools
• Practice safe work habits at all times and promote safety to others.
• Strong working knowledge of and experience working with rotating equipment.
• Perform quality work within a set schedule as determined by the project specifications.
• Accountable for all assigned tools and materials at all times.
• Assist immediate supervisor with future tasks to be completed.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Determine the number, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.
• Selects type and size of reinforcing iron, rebar, and related materials according to the job specifications.
• Selects and places rods in forms, spacing and fastening them together using wire and pliers.
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
• Cuts reinforcing iron and rebar to required lengths using hacksaw, bar cutters, or cutting torch according to site specific and industry standards.
• May reinforce concrete with wire mess.
• May weld reinforcing bars together using arc-welding equipment.
• Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, or marking gauge.
• Ensure proper permits have been obtained and can read & understand all permits.
• Prioritize tasks according to job schedule and work sequence.
• Coordinate work with other crafts, co-workers, and other contractors on the job.
• Assemble and station tools and materials needed to optimal and safe place ready for use as required.
• Assist in concrete placement, industry carpentry, and site layout as the need arises.
• Track all components and materials for project tasks.
