Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in a related field preferred.
• Preferred Certified Nursing Assistant
• Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move patients safely, with a minimum lifting requirement of 25 pounds.
• Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and equipment.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists in setting up and organizing therapy equipment.
• Prepare treatment areas for patient therapy sessions.
• Provide hands-on support during therapy sessions as directed by licensed therapists.
• Safely transport patients to and from therapy sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Assist patients with exercises, activities, and the use of therapy equipment as instructed by therapists.
• Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
• Help patients with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed.
• Accurately file and manage patient therapy documentation in medical records.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare staff promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Ensure therapy equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored after each use.
• Conduct routine inspections of therapy equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work closely with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and any necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide clear instructions and support.
