Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to support patient care in the Outpatient Comprehensive Wound Center. You will perform routine tasks under supervision, assist clinicians with safe mobility and positioning, and help maintain clean, organized treatment areas and equipment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS within 6 months, and completion of the rehab tech training program within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Completion of rehabilitation technician training within 3 months of hire.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred.
• Familiar with patient lifting and handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated routine patient care tasks under direct supervision of the clinician.

• Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment.
• Participates in operational aspects of the department and performance improvement activities.
• Orders, distributes and maintains inventory of department supplies; may perform scheduling and clerical duties.
• Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room.

Overview

Performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician(s). Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed. Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment. Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required. Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies. May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties. Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment. This position is based in the Outpatient Comprehensive Wound Center and follows a regular weekday schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are Weekend and holiday requirements to support operational and patient care needs.

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Rehab experience preferred.
• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.
• Monday through Friday 8-4:30p with weekend and holiday requirements.
