Job summary

IU Health's Adult Critical Care team at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician for a full-time, hourly position. You will assist clinicians with patient mobility, help maintain treatment areas, and support department operations and safety programs.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, BLS certification within 6 months, completion of rehab technician training within 3 months, and 1-3 years healthcare experience; familiarity with patient lifting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician. Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed.
• Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment.
• Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
• Participates in infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
• Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies.
• May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties.
• Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Rehab experience preferred.
• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.
