Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking Rehabilitation Technician team members for the Adult Surgical Teams at Methodist Hospital. You will perform routine patient care tasks under clinician supervision and assist with safe mobility and positioning.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification within 6 months, and completion of the rehab tech training program within 3 months. 1–3 years in healthcare is preferred, with familiarity in lifting procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
• Requires completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician.
• Assist with safe mobility and positioning of patients as needed.
• Maintain and clean treatment areas and equipment.
• Participate in department operations and infection control, safety and regulatory programs.
• Order, distribute and maintain designated supplies for the department.
• May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties.
• Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room.

This is a full-time position with our Adult Surgical Teams at Methodist Hospital. Performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician(s). Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed. Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment. Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required. Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies. May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties. Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.

• High School Diploma/GED is required.


• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.


• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.


• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Rehab experience preferred.


• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.
