Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Durham County seeks a Counselor in Charge to lead day-to-day administration of the rehab program. You will supervise a team of 5 Rehabilitation Counselors, 2 Casework Technicians, and 1 Human Services Coordinator, while partnering with the Unit Manager to meet productivity and service goals.

Qualifications

Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or counseling from an accredited institution.
Current certification as a CRCC rehabilitation counselor.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
Successful completion of independent counselor status requirements.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals on the caseload with job development and placement to complete rehabilitation plans.
Administer casework approvals, ensure quality service delivery, and support budget development and performance management.
Staff development, training, and consultation/technical assistance to subordinate staff.
Carry out other related assignments as determined by the Unit Manager.
