Job summary
MaineGuide is seeking a Rehabilitation Counselor II – Targeted Caseload to provide vocational rehabilitation services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Regions I-III, serving Lewiston and surrounding areas.
The role focuses on counseling, evaluating medical/psychological information, and developing comprehensive rehabilitation plans leading to sustainable employment. Remote work strategies and strong team collaboration are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation and 2 years of experience demonstrating knowledge and abilities in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.
- Experience coordinating with employers, service providers and state partners to place clients in meaningful employment.
- Knowledge of supported employment principles and vocational rehabilitation best practices.
Responsibilities
- Establishing a counseling relationship and partnership with consumers.
- Contacting business and industry groups, advocating for clients, and offering incentives and assistance to place clients in jobs.
- Building partnerships within the workforce development system.
