Job summary

InnovAge is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to assist with participant treatments and daily rehab department maintenance in Charlottesville, VA. You will support therapists, help with home visits, and manage supplies and equipment under supervision.

The role includes transporting participants, applying therapies, monitoring vitals, and guiding therapeutic exercise. Basic clerical duties and inventory control are also part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Requires personal transportation, state issued driver’s license, good driving record and auto insurance as required by law.
• A minimum of one year experience working with the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Transports and prepares participant for treatment and provides other support services.
• Applies and monitors hot/cold packs and paraffin as assigned by the therapist.
• Monitors vital signs and reports abnormal signs to supervising therapist immediately.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers and mobility per plan of care designed by therapist.
• Carries out passive treatments such as passive range of motion and positioning.
• Guides individual and group exercise programs under supervision of therapist.
• Guides participants in the use of therapeutic exercise equipment and home bathroom equipment.
• Delivers and retrieves Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed from clinics and participant homes.
• Maintains records of Durable Medical Equipment per department procedures.
• Performs light housekeeping duties and maintains rehab area; reports unsafe conditions.
