Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking an Activity Therapy Assistant to support therapeutic recreational activities and rehabilitation for patients. You will direct and motivate patients in games, social activities, and music, helping to create a positive atmosphere during hospitalization and after discharge in the community.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Associates Degree in Activity, Recreational therapy or related field.
• Preferred: Recreational Therapy Assistant (RTA) or Activity Therapy Assistant Certificate.
• Minimum one year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduits therapeutic recreational activities under direction to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Directs patient participation in activities to create sociability and learning opportunities.
• Fosters an environment to explore potential, boost morale, and reduce distress.
