Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Part Time Day shift Activity Therapy Assistant to support rehabilitative services at our facility. The role involves conducting therapeutic recreation activities under supervision and guiding patient participation to foster social interaction and learning during hospitalization and after discharge.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or an Associate's in Activity/ Recreational Therapy, with preference for an RTA or Activity Therapy Assistant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associates Degree in Activity, Recreational therapy or other related field.
• Recreational Therapy Assistant (RTA) or Activity Therapy Assistant Certificate preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting preferred.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

Responsibilities

Conducts therapeutic recreation al activities under the direction of the Activity Therapist / Director / Manager / Supervisor, within the program to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically and mentally disabled. The Activity Therapy Assistant directs patient participation in selected activities such as games, social activities, sports or music to create an atmosphere of sociability, to provide a means of creative expression and to facilitate the learning skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community. Creates an environment that allows the patient to explore his/her own potential, cultivate positive morale and minimize distress of illness.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING


• High School Diploma or Associates Degree in Activity, Recreational therapy or other related field.


• Recreational Therapy Assistant (RTA) or Activity Therapy Assistant Certificate preferred.


• Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting preferred.


• Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Long Term Care offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $18.00 to $21.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
