Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a full-time Rehab Tech to join our team. The role supports therapists in preparing patients for treatment, assists with lifting, ADLs, feeding programs, and safe patient transport within the Rehab Department.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, stocking inventory, setting up treatment areas, and may involve mentoring new staff or clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience is acceptable.
• Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
• Strong patient safety awareness and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing patients for treatment under supervision of therapists and staff.
• Participate in lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients and/or equipment.
• Assist with dressing and grooming as directed for ADLs.
• Assist with supervised feeding programs.
• Ensure safety for self, patients, and others at all times.
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department.
• Inventory, order, and stock supplies; issue DME under therapist direction.
• Set up and clean treatment area with appropriate equipment and supplies.
• May mentor or train new technician staff; perform clerical tasks as needed.
• Take patient blood pressure readings under clinical staff guidance.

• Schedule: M-F 8-4:00p, also works 2-3 weekend shifts with a day off during the week for the weekend shift every 6-8 weeks
• Participates in lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients and/or equipment
• Participates in ADLs specifically dressing and grooming as assigned by clinical staff
• Assists with supervised feeding programs
• Uses professional judgement to always ensure safety to self, patients, and others
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department
• Taking inventory, ordering and stocking supplies
• Issues DME under the direction of the therapist
• Performs set up and cleanup of treatment area including appropriate equipment and supplies
• May be involved in mentoring, training of new technician staff members.
• Performs all other duties as requested by the manager.
• May be involved with clerical and computer skills
• Performs patient blood pressure readings during treatment under the guidance of clinical staff.
