Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a year‑round Rehabilitation Technician opening at our Gurnee Rehab Services location.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to work 30‑40 hours per week year‑round in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting within IBJI's Rehab Services Division.

Job Summary

A rehabilitation technician works under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position are to support the staff with a team‑oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care, with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life.

Essential Duties

• Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast‑paced orthopedic rehab office.
• Daily clinic maintenance: cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linen, and stocking supplies.
• Keep exercise equipment orderly and out of the way to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines; act as an extender to the therapists by assisting clinicians with exercise programs, including setting up equipment and modalities.
• Communicate with the therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program; take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
• Print home exercise programs for patients under the direction of the clinician.
• Maintain inventory of both clinical and non‑clinical materials.
• For clinics that utilize techs for front‑desk support, follow best‑practice procedures involving clerical duties such as checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co‑pays, scanning, and answering the phone.
• Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
• Work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
• Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
• Demonstrate professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Must be a current student or have completed a high school education.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 20‑35 hours of availability per week.
• Must have availability for morning and evening shifts.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
• Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in Windows, MS Office, and Email access.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience. Benefits to those eligible (30+ hours a week) include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long and short term disability, 401(k) program with company match and profit sharing, wellness program, health savings accounts, flexible savings accounts, ID protection plan, accident, critical illness, and hospital benefits.
