Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI) has Rehabilitation Technician openings at our Lake Bluff Physical Therapy location. The role supports therapists and staff, delivering patient-focused care in a fast-paced orthopedic rehab setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercise programs, front-desk tasks, and maintaining clinic operations while upholding HIPAA privacy and professional standards. 16+ and HS education required; 8 hours/week with opening/closing shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Attending High School or have a High School Degree minimum.
• Available to work 8 hours per week, opening and closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and communication to patients and staff in a fast-paced orthopedic rehab office.
• Daily clinic maintenance including cleaning tables and equipment, changing linen, stocking supplies.
• Keep exercise equipment orderly and safe for patients.
• Assist clinicians with patient care and exercise programs as directed by therapists.
• Print home exercise programs for patients under clinician direction.
• Inventory of clinical and non-clinical materials and front-desk clerical duties as needed.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and protect patient privacy.
• Provide daily support to rehab staff and management.

Job Summary

A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life.

Essential Duties

• Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
• Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
• Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
• Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
• Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
• Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
• Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
• For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
• Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
• Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
• Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
• Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
• Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.
• Flexible to work morning, mid and evening shifts (no later than 7:00pm), NO WEEKENDS

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
