Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami is seeking a Rehab Aide who, under supervision, assists therapists, prepares patients for treatment, and helps maintain a clean and orderly PM department. The role supports equipment cleaning, room readiness, and clerical tasks while coordinating with the care team.

No travel is required. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, BLS on hire (or prior), and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required upon hire.
• No experience required; prior patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families, physicians, and health care team.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for and assist therapists in treatment.
• Maintain the PM Department in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Communicate appropriate patient information and ensure adequate stock of supplies.
• Perform clerical duties and assist with room organization and equipment cleaning.
• Assist with transfers, gait, or balance activities and basic Excel data entry.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Rehab Aide, under the supervision of the manager, prepares patients for and assists therapists in treatment, and demonstrates a good working knowledge of treatment techniques. Maintains the PM Department in a clean and orderly fashion. Communicates appropriate patient information. Assures adequate stock of supplies and performs clerical duties. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Primary duties: Equipment cleaning and monitoring rooms for discharging patients to gather therapy equipment, keeping gyms organized and monitoring supplies for re-ordering, assisting therapists with patient care such as being a second assist for transfers, gait, or balance activities. Basic Excel data entry tasks.

What qualifications you will need

• BLS certification required upon hire.
• No experience required. However, prior experience in a patient care related field preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate with patients using auditory Input and Output.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
