Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to help improve patients’ mobility and independence. You will deliver individualized exercises and modalities, under supervision, within a strong care team.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and patient education, with opportunities for growth and scheduling flexibility. Qualified candidates hold an LPTA license and are prepared to obtain BCLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• LPTA license required to practice as PTA.

Responsibilities

• Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
• Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
• Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care.
• Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
• Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
