Job summary

Ortho Rhode Island is seeking an entry-level Per Diem Medical Assistant in Providence, RI. The role supports clinic operations, patient check-in/out and scheduling, with varied hours from early morning to evening.

You will assist clinical staff, prepare treatment areas, restock supplies, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment. Prior orthopedic exposure and MS Office knowledge are helpful; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with orthopedic related work (1 year) is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Discretion to work with confidential information.
• Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
• Kinesiology background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
• Support PT and OT clinical staff in the delivery of patient care as indicated.
• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for treatments.
• Clean, organize and maintain equipment for patient care.
• Maintain the physical environment of the facility.

What you’ll do:

This position prepares patient treatment areas by cleaning and restocking supplies, supports general day to day functions including patient appointment scheduling, and client check in/out.

QualificationsWho you are:

Required Education and Experience

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• At least one year of orthopedic related work.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Discretion to work with confidential information
• Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations
• Pertinent job-related experience and Medical Terminology
• Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus
• Kinesiology background a plus.
